Under 21 Proposed Leagues Confirmed...

Updated: Aug 1

Retford FC will face some new opponents in the Worksop Van Hire North Midlands Under 21 League after the league confirmed its proposed constitution this week.

The Bob Beswick (NE) Division will see Retford pitted against Armthorpe Welfare FC, Club Thorne Colliery CIC, Harworth Colliery FC, Maltby Main FC, Selby Town FC, Worksop Town FC.

Disappointingly there will be no Under 21 derbies this season after Retford United made the decision to withdraw their Under 21’s from the league.

However there will still be some big games across the season with local derbies against last seasons league winners Harworth Colliery and a Bassetlaw Derby against Worksop Town.

Manager Martin Woodhead said “I’m looking forward to the new season and the new challenges ahead. The lads are back together in pre season training and we are looking forward to a friendly at the SL2 Rail Stadium against Lincoln United on Thursday evening.”

“We will be looking to bring some new faces into the squad and continue to support the pathway to the first team as players look to make the step up to the next level.”

The divisions are:

Bob Beswick (NE) Division:

Armthorpe Welfare, Club Thorne Colliery, Harworth Colliery, Maltby Main, Retford FC, Selby Town, Worksop Town.

Stephen Hall (NW) Division:
