Retford FC Completes Acquisition of SL2 Rail Stadium Site and Enhances Clubhouse Facilities

Retford Football Club is proud to announce that, following several months of legal proceedings, the club has officially received the deeds to the SL2 Rail Stadium site with the purchase completed from the BRSA. This milestone enables the club to advance its development plans and fully utilise the clubhouse facilities to support both footballing and community activities.

With full ownership secured, Retford FC has obtained the necessary licenses to operate the clubhouse bar, providing a welcoming space for supporters and visitors. The clubhouse is now equipped with amenities including Sky TV and a pool table, enhancing the matchday experience and offering a venue for community engagement throughout the week.

Retford FC continues to operate as a committee-run club, a structure that ensures decisions are made collectively, prioritising the club’s long-term success and community involvement.

Chairman Chris Woodhead expressed his enthusiasm for this development, stating:

“Securing the deeds to the ground is a monumental achievement for Retford FC. It allows us to fully utilise our clubhouse facilities, creating a vibrant hub for our supporters and the local community. These enhancements will generate additional income streams, ensuring the club’s self-sufficiency and supporting our ambitions on the pitch.”

“I’d like to thank the committee for their hard work and patience as we got this over the line and as a collective we can now move forward and develop our ideas for putting the club firmly on the map.”

The club remains committed to maintaining existing community facilities, including the bowling green, and continues to work closely with local groups to ensure their ongoing use of the site.

This achievement marks a significant step forward in Retford FC’s journey, reinforcing its dedication to building a sustainable and community-focused future.
