Matty moves on...

After 56 games and 18 goals, Matt Parkin has left the club and has returned to Staveley Miners Welfare.

With the last couple of seasons blighted by injury that led him to have an operation on his ACL, Matt came back towards the end of last season and made an impact in the final few games but has struggled to regain full fitness during pre season limiting him to only a handful of appearances for this season.

He leaves the club with the best wishes of Chris Woodhead who said, “It’s been a tough couple of years for Matt who was on fire when he first joined us with the unfortunate injury stunting his game time in recent times. We stood by him as he went through his surgery and he was in my plans throughout his recovery period, however after we had a good chat about his future we both came to an agreement that it was time for him to move onto pastures new and that will be at Staveley Miners Welfare so I wish him all the best at Inkersall Road.”

The club would like to thank him for his services over the last three years and wish him all the best at his new club.
