Retford FC have added to their defensive options with the signing of Igor Mlynarski, who joins the club following his spell at Wakefield AFC in the Northern Counties East League.
The 25‑year‑old right‑back, previously with Worksop Town, Shirebrook Town, and Retford United, moved to Wakefield in February 2025 and became a regular feature in their squad before a metatarsal injury curtailed his 2025/26 campaign.
Mlynarski is known for operating as an attacking full‑back, offering width on the right side while maintaining defensive responsibilities, however he can play in a number of different positions and Retford FC believe he will add depth and competition heading into the new season.
Chris Woodhead said the signing “adds experience at this level and strengthens the options for the squad” as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign.
Mlynarski will link up with the squad during pre‑season as the Choughs look to build on last year’s progress at the Green Bros. Rail Ground.
