Retford FC and Doncaster Rovers Belles have joined forces and can confirm that the remainder of the Belles’ FA Women’s National League home fixtures this season will be played at the SL2 Rail Stadium, the home of Retford Football Club.
The move means the final six home games will take place in Retford — including exciting local derby fixtures, with Leeds United and Huddersfield Town both scheduled to visit the Belles.
Retford FC Chairman Chris Woodhead said: “When Doncaster approached us about the use of our ground we had no hesitation to agree a deal. It shows how much our stadium has evolved over the last few years to be chosen to host fixtures of such a high level in the Women’s game and I know we can meet and exceed the expectations of the Belles for the rest of the season.
This is yet another partnership that puts Retford FC on the map and financially it is huge for the club to keep us moving forward. We look forward to welcoming the teams, officials and supporters of all the clubs who will be visiting.”
